I get asked a lot about my diet so I have decided to write this page. What works for me may not work for everyone. In the last 9 years I have come up with some really great tasting dishes that are very nutritious too. I am putting up some great recipes too.
I truly feel that the diet I am on will cut my chances of cancer or heart disease to almost ZERO. I also really believe that if a person believes he is not going to come down with one of these serious health issues he won’t. I enjoy great health and I know for a fact the only reason why is because of a diet change back in 1996.
I start every day with a glass of juice (see recipe page). To me there is nothing on earth that gets me started in the morning than raw juices. I get a nice boost of energy and a full feeling that lasts for a few hours. I drink 3 or 4 seven ounce glasses a day. I only eat 1 large meal per day usually in the late afternoon. I try to eat early enough so I can go out and work some of the calories off. Working in the organic gardens, in the evening is a very productive way to stay in shape. Walking, bicycling and rollerblading are other things I do for exercise.
Between morning juices and dinner I will usually have a piece of fruit along with raw almonds and walnuts through out the day. Nuts are very nutritious and have a lot of protein. I do not eat reg. peanuts. I just don’t feel as good after eating them. Always eat nuts raw when possible. If you’re just starting out and not used to raw nuts mix some roasted (even salted) nuts with raw ones until you can get use to all raw. So I basically just have juices, some fruit and nuts all day until dinner.
For dinner I always have a large organic salad as the main dish. Be sure and see my recipe page for my delicious 1000 island salad dressing, you will never find anything as nutritious in a bottle. I go into more detail about the salad ingredients in my recipe page. I am not a person who eats 100% raw food. I was brought up on cook food for 40 years and it is tough for me to eat all raw. I know the importance of raw, organic food and I highly recommend you try to eat 50-75%; I am at about 65%. I can tell the cooked foods slow me down more than raw foods but cooked dishes just tastes so good with a big salad. When I cook most things I do it in a pressure cooker because I feel the food has more nutritional value. My recipe page has a list of the cooked foods I eat.
Many people ask me if I eat meat. From 1996-2003 I gave up meat until George Gordon told me about a bible verse that changed my mind. Read Timothy 1 chapter 4. I personally think that some meats can be beneficial but there are many guide lines to fellow. I point those out on my web page The Bible and Nutrition, be sure and see it, it is informative. As far as the meats I eat, I do consume wild caught Salmon from clean waters. See my link at the bottom of this page on Farm Raised Salmon. Once in a great while I will have a free range, organic chicken or turkey. I only eat meat once a week.
For dessert I usually will have an organic banana and strawberries or blackberries. Genesis Living Food Snacks puts out a raw, live, nut bar called Maple Nut Royale that is good with a banana. I also like almonds and honey for dessert.
More to come in the future, this page is under construction.
