We HIGHLY RECOMMEND either the Green Star Juicer 5000 or the Green Star 2000 over any of the other Green Star models. There is no difference in motor size with 1000,2000,3000,1503 or performance, it is just the accessories. You lose out on over $45 of accessories with the 1000 (drip tray, coarse screen & stainless steel strainer) which I think are handy to have. With the GS3000 & GS Gold 1503 all you gain is the ability to do wheat pasta and it does not do pasta all that well. We bought our own dedicated pasta maker to do whole wheat (Kamut).
